Sliding quality for profits

I bought a Russel Hobbs air fryer at Hirsch’s. I have been buying from that retailer for years, and have always been happy with the quality of items. My first purchase was a fridge for my mom, paid with my first paycheck in Durban, Springfield more than 20 years ago. The fridge still works today.

So it was very disappointing to find that a year after purchasing the airfryer (bought Nov 2022 and returned Nov 2023) it was rusting at the bottom. It’s now a month since I sent the unit back, and the service people are refusing to replace it, telling me about warranties.

It’s clear the quality is now being compromised at Hirchs, and loyalty means nothing.
