poor quality with an even poorer aftercare
Late 2016 i purchased a Kenwood triblade handstick from Hirsch Umhlanga. Not less than 6 months the item stopped working and i went back to the store with the defective item. The sales consultant appearing to be very helpful offered to do a direct swap of the item for me . I did not have the receipt and the swap was done regardless. Once again , in less than 6 months the item again stopped working. The defect was exactly the same as the first experience. I once again went to the store with the defective item. The sales consultant advised that the previous sales consultant who initially assisted me no longer worked there. No record of the exchange was found on the system. The consultant advised that she would contact the /manufacturer to see whether they had any record of it on their system. On 1 week later the sales consultant contacted me to advise that the manufacturer could not inspect the item as it was a discontinued item. The matter would be escalated to the services department. i heard nothing further this was on 7/9/17. I heard nothing further . Then on 21/9/17 i received a call from a consultant who advised that nothing could be done as the motor was dead. I asked what the next step was, she said nothing could be done as I had no receipt and no record was on their system. Had i known from the onset that the item i purchased was an end of range and would never be able to be serviced or repaired, clearly i would not have purchased it. Hirsch's has a duty to advise customers of this from the onset, so that customers are informed of the risk and whether they want to accept it. I was sold an item on the basis that it was free from defects and would have a reasonable lifespan. I was obviously wrong. As a longstanding customer of Hirsch's i am left with a poor aftertaste of what their customer care is like as well as the poor quality of the goods which they sell. Hirsch's you really need to be more clear about what youre selling customers so that they can shop at their own risk instead of having sales staff who are only interested in "closing the deal". Very disappointed by a company that so fully promotes its customer care and family ethos- clearly this is as faux as the good you sell!
