Hirsch's does not honour their warranties
I bought an AEG gas/electrical stove and a Whirlpool washing machine from Hirsh in Nov 2022. The consultant convinced me to take a more expensive washing machine as it had a special that you would get an Electrolux wet and dry vacuum cleaner as part of the deal. I was told that the value of the vacuum cleaner was R3700. The vacuum cleaner stopped working. As it was still in the two-year time frame, I was told that I could bring the unit back and that they would replace it. I just received a call to say that they will give me a credit of R700. I told them that it was not acceptable and that they needed to replace the unit. As the item was discontinued, that was not an option. I was just contacted again saying that they can replace the unit with a battery-operated, handheld vacuum cleaner that is not wet and dry and should I not accept the replacement, they will give me a credit of R700. What I find disturbing is the way that they manipulated me into buying a more expensive item by a couple of thousand rands with the idea that I would be receiving a vacuum cleaner to the value of R3700. It was a redundant stock that had a bad track record. What I find extremely disappointing is the dishonesty that Hirsh uses to manipulate their customers into buying more expensive items. I don't think that I will be returning to Hirsh anytime soon. I do not like to be manipulated or **** to.......... I should have read the reviews as it seems that warranties are always a problem and then all the replies state that this is an open platform and one should contact them. The reason for the open platform is that people know who they are dealing with before purchase. My problem is that I was not given a choice as it was an insurance claim even though I paid more than R20k extra to get the items that I wanted.
