Hirsch's are ******

My first purchase with Hirsch's and so disappointed and horrid! I purchased a washing machine advertised on their website. Paid for it, arranged delivery with a consultant telephonically. And now after taking my money, I get an email to say there was a glitch and they cant sell me the item at that price.

According to their terms:

11.1 An agreement of sale between Hirsch's and a user only comes into effect if and when:

11.1.1 A credit card authorisation is received from the issuing bank;

This means the agreement of sale had already taken place. Also as per the ECA the supplier made no stipulation that the agreement is only binding once they accept the offer of the consumer. The default position in our law is that if an agreement of sale has already taken place, any error in price is binding. They were quick to take my money, now they are sitting with my money and Inconveniencing me in the sense that its a long weekend so the refund won't happen any time soon. But when it was time to take the money they did so immediately. This is unfair business practice I want feedback! You don't advertise an item at a price, take the person's money. Then you advise no oops it was a mistake so you refund on your time? What service is that??? I even got a call from a consultant to inform me that the item was sold out at the branch I elected to pick up from and asked me which other branch I can collect from. Is this how they do business?
