Hirsch Pensioners Discount ****

Hirsch's "pensioners discount" ****...I recently needed a new washing machine and choose a particular model and checked that it was available for R4100 on Hirsch's website. The website also promises a 10% pensioner's discount anyday. The R4100 minus the 10% discount was affordable and I called the Hirsch Superstore in DBN to confirm stock and pick-up only to be told..."The discount is actually on the retail price of the item which is R4400"...which now is not so affordable. Makro had the same unit available for R3700 to anyone...pensioner or not. So it seems that convenient "behind the scenes retail pricing" is what's discounted for pensioners at Hirsch. Sadly one cannot assume retailers are actually sympathetic with the plight of pensioners even after they boldly claim that they are...do not be fooled by such claims...always shop around and make it a point to support traders like MassMart that truly offer claimed discounts on "listed prices"...
