Don’t buy from Hirchs online

I will not purchase any appliances from Hirchs ever again. My husband and I bought a defy dishwasher in November 2022 for our new house which was still being built at the time and has now just been finished and so we moved in 2 weeks ago. The dishwasher sat in our garage for the past 6 months, unopened and in its original packaging. Now that we’ve moved in and opened the dishwasher it came out our attention that the top pull out drawer shelf was not connected to the rail and so could be pulled out, as it was unconnected.

It has proved impossible in getting someone from Hirchs or defy to come and look at our brand new, unused and still under warranty dishwasher. Hirchs told us it is Defy’s problem, and defy refuse to call us back to arrange a time to come and look at it. It is very disheartening that Hirchs won’t assist us, they are rude on the phone and have told us it must be negligence. If it was Takealot, this would not even be an issue.

Don’t ever order anything from Hirchs if you want to risk having a warranty, their after sale service does not exist. And don’t order a Defy appliance if you want it to last. Two weeks have passed and no one from Defy has phoned to come see our dishwasher. They’re happy to take your money, and that’s where the service ends. Rather go to an actual store and purchase a Samsung or Bosch product instead.
