DO NOT TRUST HIRSCH'S FOR A REFUND

On 29 April I went to Hirsch's Strueben Valley to purchase a portable vacuum. I wanted to purchase the AEG but they were out fo stock. The salesman told me that the Bissell was exactly the same so I purchased it but when I got home I found it was not battery operated. On 2 May I took it to Fourways as they apparently had one AEG in stock. They did not have so I asked for a refund but they first tried to push a credit. I said I wanted it to be credited to my credit card. They said that the card was not accepting a refund and refused to give me cash which I was demanding. I spoke to the so called manager. Chrissie Nortman, who was insistent that there was an issue with my card, they could not refund me R520 cash but could do an EFT as some stage. Eventually I stormed out fo the store with the intention of taking this up with head office. I phoned my card company who said there was no problem on my card and on their side. I went into two other stores afterwards and they showed me that they could do refunds on the card. Obviously Hirsch's try and duck and dive on refunds. I am not the only one to struggle with refunds from Nortman as per other complains on this site.
