Dear Margaret Hirsch

Since all my emails get returned for email addresses I have found for Margaret Hirsch, here is my email to her so she can see it in here with my complaint. Unfortunately I can't attach the photos.

Good day Margaret,

I recently purchased a Siemens dishwasher from your Umgeni branch on the 8th of September 2018. Upon using the unit for the first time 10 September 2018 the unit failed with an E15 fault on its first wash. Fair enough, it may have been faulty from the supplier I understand that, but that is not the biggest issue. I logged the fault and Mohammed the technician came over the next day to sort out the problem. He came over, but was unable to fix the issue as there is an internal leak in the unit and water is leaking I to the bottom tray (E15 fault as per google) and confirmed by the technician.

I then get SMS to give feedback. Feedback was unit was not repaired. I get a call from Siemens and I explain the issue and they contacted Hirsch right after and tell me issue has been logged with Hirsch headoffice. I then contacted Emiline the sales person that sold me the unit to request feedback of what's happening.

This is where the issue comes in. When I purchased the unit and I have a witness, I enquired about parts availablity before I purchased the unit. I was told it's a current unit and that parts are readily available. I also got told I have 7 days to return the unit for a new one if anything should happen. Right there you had an extremely happy customer, because it ticked all my boxes and gave me the confidence to extend the warranty to a 5 year one too as it really helped with my Samsung washing machine we got from Hirsch. (Didn't have a favourable experience either as it took 3 weeks to fix as technician was given the incorrect parts the whole time). So I call Emiline just to be told the following:

1. My unit will not be replaced with the same make and model as it is not a current model and has been discontinued. (Which is contrary to what I was told when I purchased the unit)

2. There are no parts available (Which is contrary to what I was told when I purchased the unit)

To make matters worse the unit got picked up and I was told a small leak was found and that the repair centre had just refitted the inlet pipe. I did request that the unit be replaced since this is my right according to the consumer law within the first 6 months and not repaired, and clearly stated to Emmiline and her service manager that I did not want a refund but a new unit, but a repair was done anyway. Fair enough the unit seems to be fine now, but was I wrong. Upon opening the unit to load some dishes I realised something was not quite the same as when I first purchased the unit. The door did not open fully as it did before, but opens at an angle now so the bottom tray rolls back into the unit when pulled out. I found this really strange, so I decided to investigate a bit further, just to find that on the left side of the unit the hinge part is broken, but that's not all. There are also two *****s missing in the unit. (Please see attached photos)

I find this unacceptable as this now has become a grudge purchase as I was sold a unit under false pretences. If I had known this unit was not a current model and parts were not readily available, then I would not have made the purchase let alone extend the warranty. And to make matters worse, the unit got damaged during a so called repair, which means I am back at square one.

I now request a new unit again since it seems it just fell upon deaf ears before, and especially now that it was returned to me damaged.

Kind regards,
