Hi I recently had the unfortunate experience in dealing with the Hirsch repair team. I called into the store and was advised that there is a charge of R150 to have my microwave assessed. I went in and paid the R150 and the microwave was taken at the hirsch umhlanga store. I needed the assessment report as multiple of my appliance were damaged and the report was needed by the insurance company. I thereafter received a call by Reylan stating that I need to pay an additional R500 to have the appliance repaired. After explaining to him that I require the assessment report he stated that I need to have the initial repair done to get an assessment report of the appliance. Thereafter he changed and stated I need to pay an additional R180 to have the as*****t completed because I was mis quoted for the assessment. Despite requesting numerous times that the appliance be at hirsch on the weekend reylan did not respond to the email. The entire week I battled to get thru to the service department. Spoke to Reshma today and all she could say was I need to pay an additional amount. Apparently because my microwave went to hirch repairs and. It a different supplier. What's the use me having to pay R800 and I won't even get a report. I told her keep the microwave however it is sad that a big corporation behaves in an ********* manner. It's not about the money but ethics. I will report the matter to the consumer council as I believe this is happening to many consumers and this mob mentality should not be tolerated. If hirch is in need of second hand microwave parts they should have offered to buy the microwave up front. I will also refer my story to consumer watch. I'm sure there are many consumers that need to be alerted so avoid being in a similar situation.
