APPALLING service by Hirsch's Fourways

I needed to urgently replace 3 defective stove plates for an Electrolux glass top hob and I took the defective plates to the agents Hirsch’s in Fourways, (Gauteng Province) together with the model number, on Friday 5 May 2017. Ms Noleen Pillay at the spares department then promised to call me on Monday 8 May with the prices for the plates.

No call was received, however. I then called her on Tuesday 9 May to enquire, but she was not in that day and nobody else could/wanted to assist me. I then called again on Wed 10 May and spoke to the said Noleen Pillay. She could not remember the order/enquiry and only after “scratching around” on her desk, found the note about it. She then (again) promised to call me back, but never did.

I then went to the spares dept again on Sunday 15 May. A person on duty found the details of the enquiry in Noleens book, with reference number ********** . There were no notes as to the prices or stock availability, and it once again seemed that nothing had been done about it. I then spoke to the Store Manager on duty, a Ms Chrissie Nortman, who was apologetic, and promised to let me know what was going on the next day (Monday).

I did not receive a call from anyone on Monday and I phoned Chrissie again on Tuesday 16 May. She then put me through to Noleen, who for the first time was able to give me the prices for the plates, but advised that AEG had no stock available, and that an order could take between 2 and 4 weeks. She could also not guarantee that the prices of any new stock would be the same.

She could have given me this answer on day one while I was waiting (because it only required 1 phone call to establish), but it took her 12 days to get to this point.

I am thus considering replacing the hob rather than waiting another 2 to 4 weeks, unless AEG/Hirsch’s can provide the plates immediately.
