HORRIBLE HOTEL STAY

<p>My stay at the double tree Hilton hotel in Woodstock was very disappointing... as it was my birthday(the hotel was informed) I booked and paid in advance and sent them my proof of payment. I was so excited, and upon arrival I was greeted by highly unfriendly staff that seemed to be patronizing and looking down on me. I tried to explain that I had booked AND PAID IN FULL for a night stay and for breakfast and the man who helped us laughed and insisted that I was wrong and if I wanted to stay I would have to pay again. I was embarrassed in front of my partner and so I paid and went to my room which was dark, hot and only had the bare minimum. I went downstairs to query my payment and it took 3 employees and 20 minutes to find out that I HAD paid and they could reimburse me. Not only was I not apologized to- but NOTHING was done to make my stay more comfortable. That is such poor service recovery. They could at least have offered us a complimentary drink or spa voucher (as other hotels had done) or anything or said HAPPY BIRTHDAY but nothing was done. Upon leaving, the staff was rude and dismissive and just ensured that I will NEVER be staying at the Double Tree Hotel again.</p>
