No wonder people are dying.

No wonder people are dying. Neglect and utter lack of communication! After being admitted to casualty yesterday my father was placed in Surgical ward 2. Suffice to say he would have been better off being sent home where he could look after himself and get some rest!

Instead he is placed surgical ward 2 where the neglect begins:

Not given any instructions on how the basic amenities work eg, lights, remote, location of charging points or the call button!. (Sure this sounds basic but not so much for the other older sicker and disoriented patients around my father having not even been shown how to use their call buttons to call for help so he is instead of resting assisting them)

There is a jug of water available of water but no glasses, this is requested and takes 6 hours!!! So patients are left thirsty and dehydrating further when sick with covid.

There is also a big hole in the ceiling near to my father’s bed so in the night he was freezing cold so much so that the nurses couldn’t get blood when taking a blood sample from his finger, lovely caring nurses that they are made sure to bring him an extra blanket over an hour later!

He is being kept there as his oxygen levels are worrying however has only had his oxygen checked once all through the night.

A doctor has finally gone to check on him as I type this this morning and said he has to stay as is borderline pneumonia! So why on earth is he left next to a hole in the ceiling and without any extra blankets for over an hour when discovered he was too cold to get a blood sample from his finger!

I can’t believe this is a private hospital.
