Dealership Selling Broken Car to Customers
My mother and my brother purchased Toyota Auris on Friday. A lady by the name of Nicolene assisted them through this process.
Nicolene was aware that the engine light of this car is on and she told my mom and brother that it is an indication that its the oil so she gave them R150 to pour the oil, however when they poured oil at the petrol filling station the light was still there. They drove all the way home and the engine light kept on beeping.
Only yesterday my brother decided to test drive the car for a longer distance, heading to drop off wife at Pretoria. The cars engine warning lights all went on and after 5 min it blew the engine, it was over heating, leaking oil underneath the engine and smoke coming out of the engine. The engine fan is always on and very loud. Nicolene saw the engine warning light but ignored my mom and brother when they told her about it. My mom also asked for the service books for the car and no one provided them. I called Wesbank since they are financing the car, they said we must ask the dealership to cancel the contract. We can not buy a broken car. The dealership has been quiet since yesterday morning when my brother told them of the car breaking down on the freeway. He had to tow the car from his own pocket, the dealership did not even care about fetching the car or sending the tow people. This morning my brother spoke to them again to come fetch the car, they promised they will be there at 9am, till now, no one has come collected the car. The manager has been absent since yesterday, then this morning they say his been in the meeting since 9am. I am very unhappy of the service of this dealership. I want action now and response on this matter. I want Wesbank to cancel the contract also Immediately. We cant pay for a broken car.
