Tyre Insurance that is selling dreams (Worthless)

Hi-q describe their insurance as "It offers you total driving ‘peace-of-mind’ and a convenient pocket-friendly solution to replacing your damaged registered tyres, The remaining tread will be measured at 3 points on the tyre. Credit will be awarded based on the lower measurement taken. Claims will be limited to a maximum of R6000 incl. VAT per tyre, whichever the lesser." I bought new tyres from Hi-Q mainly due to their Free tyre insurance, where i was told that i would be covered if i ever had to have a blow out/hit a pot whole. I therefore decided to get my tyres from hi-q. I then purchased 4, not cheap, but 4 pirelli tyres, which costed me R1350 per tyre. The very same day we drove down to pietermaritzburg for a funeral and hit a pot whole and blew my one new tyre. Not stressed due to the tyre insurance, i simply followed their claim instructions" Visit ANY hi-q store to process a claim". We stop in Estcourt at Hi-q to claim when they tell us that they cant process the claim but we would have to complete the claim back in Johannesburg, when we are 400Km away from Johannesburg. Therefore we had no other choice but to purchase a cheaper temporary tyre which costed R950 for a new "rapid" tyre. So much for their quote "It offers you total driving ‘peace-of-mind’ and a convenient pocket-friendly solution to replacing your damaged registered tyres." (if you're broke you're *****ed) It gets worse, when i get to Johannesburg i go process the claim at hi-q. They even tell me that the tyre is 100% brand new and that it would take an hour or two to process, 2 hours later, they call me and tell me that the most that hi-q will credit for insurance is 64% of the tyre value and that i would need to pay an additional cost of R477. This means that i'm now spending R950 ("Rapid tyre") plus R477 (excess) which is a total of R1427. This means that i could have actually just bought a brand new Pirelli tyre for R1350 when i had the blow out and in fact i would have saved my time and money without the tyre insurance from hi-q. In my experience, the tyre insurance from hi-q is a complete waste, as due to the tyre insurance,i have wasted my time calling and driving around trying to sort the claim out as well as now spending even more money at hi-q when i would have in fact saved money without insurance. I personally will never buy tyres from Hi-q again
