Unfair Treatment & Credit Damage Despite Communication and Payment

I’m extremely disappointed in how I’ve been treated by Hifi Corp, despite being a loyal customer for over 2 years with a clean payment record — up until one missed payment in April, due to an operation and being unable to earn as a commission-based employee.

I immediately contacted Hifi Corp to explain my situation and advised that debit orders could resume the next month. I later confirmed via their call centre that I would pay off the arrears in 2–3 payments — which I did in full, even adding extra to round off the amount.

What followed was completely unacceptable:

I was treated rudely by a call centre agent who refused to provide an email address for proof of payment.

One of my large payments was misallocated to the wrong account, and although this was corrected, I was later told I still owe R56.88 — an amount I was never informed of, as I didn’t receive an updated statement.

My credit profile dropped by over 100 points, and has still not been updated, even though the accounts are effectively up to date.

I have made multiple efforts to engage with Hifi Corp, only to be met with poor service, delays, and dismissiveness.

I’m shocked that a small missed payment (for which I proactively communicated and later paid in full) has resulted in such a drastic credit score impact — and even worse customer service.

All I am asking for is:

A proper credit profile update.

An explanation of the R56.88 balance.

A formal apology for how I’ve been treated.

If I was informed of the R56.88 I would of settled it immediately which I actually done when I got the email saying that its not the R1400 payment but the R56.88 . The issue is the lack of communication, poor service, and the damage to my creditworthiness over something I’ve gone out of my way to resolve.

People do need a good credit score and when places like HIFI corp put false info on it has a huge impact on the consumers life.
