undelivered item marked as out of stock

its the second time we purchased an item from hifi corp and after some days from the time the order was marked as 'awaiting pick up from the warehouse', we receive an email to notify us that the item is out of stock. Totally unacceptable that you can accept funds for something you clearly know is not in stock? do you not do stock takes?
