Staff is always right
We bought my nephew a tablet which came with free bluetooth speaker and the sales person Kagiso from Woodmead branch told us that since we buying for a small child we should take out an extended warranty which covers everything except water damage, he told us if the child drops it and the screen gets cracked we must bring the tablet to the store and it will be fixed. I went to the store and Kagiso was not there his manager Tumi told me that the warranty doesn't cover the cracked screen and they will wait for Kagiso as he was off that weekend. Got a call from Tumi saying that Kagiso said he didnt tell us that the warranty covers the screen and i was then transferred to Kagiso who then said he never told us such. Tumi said there is nothing they can do but they will ask the regional manager to call me, she phoned me to tell me that the warranty doesnt cover the screen and i told her that that's not what i was told, she said the only thing she can do is to book the tablet in for repairs at my cost or i can take the matter legally. i got another call from Boniswa from their head office saying the same thing and that i should take the matter to the ombudsman. This is a R800 tablet and hi-fi corp being such a big company cant even go 50/50 with me to get a new one. I will never ever buy anything from Hi-Fi Corp.... worst customer service ever!! False advertising... insist on getting a document outlining what is being covered under the warranty or record conversation with sales people!!!!
