Shocking After-Sales Service & Faulty Product from Hi-Fi Corporation
In December 2024, I purchased two Packard Bell T10 10.1" LTE Tablets from Hi-Fi Corporation at R2,499 each. One tablet stopped charging in June 2025. I returned it to the store and was told it could be the charging block and would be sent in for assessment. I was told not to follow up—they’d call me. They never did.
By end of August, I called only to find the tablet was “repaired” but had the same issue. Worse, my contact number and the fault description were both recorded incorrectly.
I returned it again, spoke to the manager, and was met with blame-shifting and unprofessionalism — even being told the issue could be because I didn’t use the broken original charger (really?). I was promised a call on Monday 2nd Sept — again, no call. On 5 Sept, I followed up myself, only to find out the device hadn’t even been collected by the repair company.
This level of service is completely unacceptable. It has been over 2 months, and I still have a faulty device, zero accountability, and no communication. Replacing the device should have been the obvious solution from the start.
I am extremely disappointed and will be escalating this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud if it is not resolved immediately
