Sells items online that they don't actually have

HiFi Corp is really a shady company with ***** and antiquated policies. I bought an LG DVD Player DP842 from their online store on 2 September 2021. On 6 September they phone me and asked if I had received my player yet. I then informed them that I had not. A few minutes later they phoned again and told me that there was a mix-up and that they only have the demo model available and that it is scratched. I then requested a refund.

Long story short I had to jump through hoops to get them to process the refund BUT it takes them up to a month to process the refund. So you place an order on their website for something that does not exist, pay immediately, and then they hold on to your money for a month before they refund you. In the meantime that specific item is still marked as available and in stock on their online store today on the 9th of September 2021 (see attached screenshot taken today). It makes me wonder how many other items they 'sell' on their store and then just hold on to the money for weeks. I'm sure it creates a rosy impression of their finances. Oh and don't bother to contact their Facebook customer service rep. They just apologize and give you a reference number and completely ignore you after that. All talk and no action.

Just remember, if you can't trust them with something as simple as a R899 refund then you definitely can't trust them with larger purchases.
