Selling SECOND HAND goods as "NEW".

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY

I bought a LG TV from hifi corp in December 2012 with an extended warranty. I had to send it in three times for repairs, as the screen was faulty each time. After the third time, when the extended warranty had almost expired, they replaced it with a "NEW" TV (JVC). I also took an extended warranty with the "NEW" TV as it saved me from having to buy a "NEW" TV. Last year, September, two months after the warranty expired (July/August) my so called "NEW" TV broke again, also the screen. I went to hifi corp to see whether they could repair it. I was told that I would have to pay R 350.00 for it to be sent to first see whether it could be repaired and if so, I would have to pay for it to be repaired. I decided not to send it in and done some research on ways to maybe repair it myself. Finally knowing that it is most likely the LED backlight that died, I found the parts online that might work, but it meant I had to open the TV to get the right part number. To my surprise I found that my "NEW" TV was actually a second hand TV, ***** heads were stripped, threads were stripped and the wires weren't taped in the right place. I only removed the first cover and saw that the TV was tampered with before it was sold to me. Noticing that it was tampered with made me decided to report it to you. This review is also being forwarded to hifi corp to see what their response will be.
