Poor customer service

I would like to formally lodge a complaint regarding the bad service I received at your branch (Hi Fi Corporation) Westgate Mall. I walked into your branch with the hope of paying off the balance on my lay-by, and go home with my merchandise. Quick summary of my complaint: I had initially purchased a TV set by way of lay-by around December. And I have been making payments towards it every month. So I went to the store with the hope of finalizing my transaction and come back home with my TV set. To my dismay, the lady by the name of Phumzile Sangweni, who was busy mending the till, upon assisting me with the transaction told me to return after 30 minutes. She alluded to something about waiting for the money to clear, as I had paid electronically. I proceeded with my business of the day and returned to the store after an hour, giving her more than enough time to have my merchandise ready for collection. Upon my return, she raised the issue about an overdue TV license. I tried to pay the license - Just when I was about to pay, she went on to tell me that the TV was out of stock. My contention is the following: 1. Why did she give me the run-around before indicating to me that my merchandise was not available? 2. Isn't it proceedural to isolate inventory that is on lay-by for safekeeping? 3. Why sell something that is not there? 4. Who accepts payment for something that is out of stock? It it evident from the facts that I've endeavored to highlight above, that there is something abnormal about the way your cashier dealt with my case. She has transgressed my rights as a consumer. I do not take this lightly, as I'm well acquainted with the law pertaining to consumer rights. What happened to common curtacy? She did not even bother to apologise and afford me, as valued customer, the special service that I deserve. I expected better from an esteemed brand like yours. Please see to it that you investigate my case and deal with the culprit concerned.
