No joy with Hi-Fi Corporation - Fourways Crossing
On the 10th January 2023 I went into the Fourways Crossing branch of Hi-Fi Corp, and, after being persuaded by the sales team, bought a Hi-Sense Smart 32"TV for my parents, that was on special.
They checked the TV was functioning and then we left (with another item too).
We were assured that the smart TV was better than other brands, and that it would connect us to all kinds of things like DSTV catch up, Netflix, etc, etc
My parents don't live in Johannesburg. They left with their TV and attempted to set it up. They are a 3 hour drive from Johannesburg.
My father advised (and he had some technical advise too), that the TV was not connecting the the wifi, had to be cabled with an ethernet connection through a laptop or another device, to connect to the services we wished it to.
I went back to Hi-Fi Corp Fourways Crossing to query this. I established they had, in fact, gone to the store room and taken out another, normal LED TV and that is what my parents had.
I explained to the very pleasant branch manger, Griffith Mbatha, that my parents were at home with their not so smart TV and that a swap would need to be arranged. He agreed that this was their problem to sort out and it would be done.
We are still waiting. Two weeks later.
There are nothing but excuses. Bottom line, this needs to happen and it is not happening.
I have paid for a product that we have not received. They are not doing very much to sort out the mistake that they made.
