I'm completely livid by Hi-Fi Corporation
I need urgent assistance .My mother bought a TV at Hi-Fi corporation in Highveld Mall yesterday. She paid R20 000 cash and took possession of the TV, she got assistance from a delivery service she found at the mall. Upon arrival at home my brothers discovered that it no longer goes on.
My Dad then decided to call a technician from Hi -Fi Corporation to assist, Clive(the technician)then went to the house and he concluded that the TV had internal damage, he further informed my mother that she should obtain insurance for the TV and then take it back to store on Monday and claim a new one via insurance. My Mom decided to take the TV back today and not take the insurance option because the TV is under warranty and Hi- Fi Corporation has a 14 day return policy.
Upon arrival employees of the store took the TV from my brother and Dad(I assume for assessment) upon return my Mom says the TV had a visible crack on the screen which wasn't there prior and the box had a whole in back. They refused to refund my Mom and they also refused to give her another TV. She decided to leave the TV in store. I am livid by this whole situation.
I phoned the head office and they informed that my Mom should have been given another TV or refunded her money if the merchandise is in its original packaging and condition. At the store they are now claiming that my Mom damaged the TV and cannot get a refund or another TV.
Why would anyone buy a TV worth R20 000 just to damage it again? My Mom is so distraught and what makes matters worse is she is not well and very sickly. This issue is taking a toll on her health.
