HifiCorp Online: Don't Bother

I ordered some speakers and a cable. My order was confirmed **on their system** on the 21st November. The free delivery states "5-8 days". It's now the 8th of December. You do the math on how late they are. Here's a breakdown of what happened: - Tried repeatedly to track my order number on their website, but it could not be found. - Sent an email, got no response for days. - Sent another email, same story. - Phoned two days back, spoke to tracking/delivery and they said they'd "escalate" the matter and that they were backlogged because of Black Friday (Read: Not my problem). I was then promised it'd be delivered **that day or the next**. - Phoned today and found out **they didn't even know where it was**. I was told the note said it was shipped to FedEx. I complained bitterly. They promised to "escalate" the matter and send me and SMS. - Hours later and no SMS. I phoned the general customer care department and guess what? They didn't know what was going on. The woman at least phoned FedEx and tried to figure it out but it wasted *my* airtime while I was on hold. Total time was over 12 minutes! And in the end she told me she couldn't find out and she didn't want to keep me holding, but she would "escalate" my problem and that I will be contacted before the day's up. This sounded hauntingly fami****. I hung up.

So I got this theory: With them, "the sky's the limit" because they clearly can "escalate" everything an infinite number of times. We'll see what happens, but I'm not holding my breath. If they don't get back to me, I'm going to demand they cancel the order and refund my money immediately (pay & clear at their expense) along with R20 to compensate me for *some* of the airtime I've wasted phoning them. It probably won't happen, but it's worth a shot. I don't think it's unreasonable either. I mean how long does it take to drive from N1 City or Kenilworth to Milnerton? I doubt nearly two weeks, hah.

The takehome: Never order online with HifiCorp if you actually want your stuff delivered. Either go in and buy, or pay the extra and buy it from Takealot (whom I've never had any issues with).
