HIFI CORPORATION MIS-SELLING AND ******* MANAGEMENT TEAM
Good Afternoon.
I am a school teacher and was misold an antivirus that was purchased on the 12/01/2020. I was sold a laptop and antivirus amounting to R8000.00 that I was told works with a USB and internet service to load as the laptop did not have a CD Rom. I purchased the software and went home to load the service but there was no usb or option on the internet to download the software without having to pay for it online. I called the call centre multiple times and there was no answer, so out of desperation for me to start using my laptop immediately for lessons, I had the means to load an alternative antivirus so that I could continue with my lessons without the concern of online threats.
The antivirus authentication barcode was never compromised and is still intact as it was, I had only opened the box to load the software as planned, but failed. I had taken time off my work to return this item to HiFi Corp on the 18/01/2020 (within the 14 days cooling off period) and explained that I had been misadvised by the consultant kevin, to my horror I was very abruptly refused my return by 2 people claiming to be "managers" before I spoke to the actual manager in charge named Premie. I explained to her the problem I was having and ironically she also experienced the same issue and did not know how to load the software without making an online payment. I was still told that it is not possible despite me mentioning that I didnt use the item which was evident and the consultant had wrongly informed me about that package I had taken.
I was forced to leave the store with no assistance and no resolution when all I asked for was a refund on a product that was misold to me based on the commission received. I have been to other HiFi Corp branches multiple times and the treatment was always good. Unfortunately this experience in Springfield Park branch was the worst experience I've ever had, the management was more concerned with retaining their profits than accepting that the product was incorrectly sold and I am forced to send this through to the regulating consumer governing body to seek help as the store has failed to accept responsibility and this is against the CPA.
Kind regards:
Mr Z.S.G. ***
