HiFi Corp with-holding of important information

I bought a VGKE Tablet for my son in July 24 and was advised that if I take a once of insurance (Abacus)premium of R415 the tablet will be covered for theft or damage and sure thing I did that, Feb 25 tablet gets ****** at a party and we go to claim, after almost a month of back and forth with Abacus and HiFi Corp, I am told that in order yo get a new device I must pay an access fee of R400 which was never mentioned to us at all or at any point....so people please be careful when dealing with these two companies, they with-hold important information when doing sales!
