HiFi Corp Refuses to Honour Confirmed Dishwasher Purchase

On [insert date], I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher (DW60M5070FG) from HiFi Corporation’s website for R1,000.00. The order went through successfully, payment was made, and I received confirmation of the purchase.

Shortly afterwards, HiFi Corporation informed me by email that the advertised price was a “technical error” and that they would not honour the transaction. Instead, they offered only a refund.

The transaction was processed and confirmed, creating a reasonable expectation that HiFi Corporation would deliver.

No attempt has been made to find a fair compromise (such as a partial discount, voucher, or goodwill gesture).

I have tried to engage HiFi Corporation and Pepkor Lifestyle directly without success. Their refusal to respond or provide a meaningful resolution leaves me no choice but to escalate this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO).
