Hifi Corp 'Price Beat guarantee' is a LIE!

The large sign hanging in the entrance of Hifi Corporation at Willowbridge displays the company's 'Price Beat guarantee'; Nobody beats our prices'. So, I ask the lady for a pair of Volkano Sprint series earbuds, which cost about R500 online, or R599 at Cape Union Mart.

She then explains that the 'Price beat guarantee' only applies to 'promo' items .... BUT the sign doesn't say that, I point out. Oh, but it's in the T&Cs she explains ... which I can read online, she adds.

REALLY!? ... now how is anyone suppposed to understand that from the signage? You're not - the signage is misleading and deliberately so. It tells you only what the company wants you to think .... it is deliberately ambiguous to get customers into the store with false promises.

It is time that companies which use these (deliberately) ambiguous and misleading tactics should be sanctioned ... and stopped from treating customers in such insulting fashion.
