Hifi cooperation taking customers for a ride

I bought a laptop for 6K on 27 February 2023 at hifi cooperation. Th laptop is Asus I3 laptop. It's freezing and cannot log into the internet. I returned it to the shop and I'm told I have to wait for 21days for it to be repaired. Why would I wait that long for something that is supposed to be brand new
