Hi Fi corporations policy to inconvenience customers

I bought 2 x 7" tablets from them when I opened the box one was already set up and had a sim card in it, so I returned it as it is not new. The store policy is that they do not do refunds on debit cards so they would have to give me cash to the value of the item but cannot tell me when and I should check in with them later.

I must drive 6km to check if they got cash and if not I must come back again. The other thing is they are also not allowed to keep cash in the register so if I don't come at the exact time the money comes in they will put it in the drop safe.

So I did not get my money and they cannot care less because all they can tell me is that is the policy and than ignore me,. I am not prepared to keep driving to hifi corp in the hope that my money is there. they are not even prepared to call and say we have cash you can come.
