Hi-Fi corporation does not honot extended warranty

I purchased an hd pvr decoder in 2013. The salesman sold me an extended warranty for 3 years on top of the normal warranty. I asked him explicitly if this warranty will be the same as the warranty I can get directly from Multichoice for R20/month where a faulty decoder gets replaced immediately on the spot when faulty.<br> <br> The salesman confirmed, and even said that the HIFI Corp one is better since it will be replaced with a newer model. Obviously I bought the extended warranty.<br> <br> Now the decoder broke due to software *******ion. I had to take the decoder to Multichoice myself, which i did on 23 May. They confirmed the problem and issued a letter to HIFI Corp stating the problem.<br> <br> Getting to HIFI Corp, they had to send the decoder in as well and wait for an answer from somewhere, they blame head-office. This is now already 2 weeks that I am without dstv, still paying for my subscription, but the promises made to me when I bought the decoder is not adhered to.<br> <br> In the meantime Johannes never comes back to me as promised. When I call him, he just says he will call back which never happens.<br> <br> What is the use of a warranty if the company can decide on their own if they will honor it or not!
