Formal Complaint Against HiFi Corporation – Poor Service and Lack of Customer Care

Dear HelloPeter,

I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding the unacceptable service we recently received from HiFi Corporation.

Our company purchased three laptops from HiFi Corporation approximately one month ago. Unfortunately, one of the laptop chargers has already stopped working. We returned to the store with the faulty charger, expecting the matter to be handled quickly and professionally.

To our surprise, we were informed that, according to their policy, we would need to bring the entire laptop back together with the charger and leave it with them for 21 days for assessment. When we explained that this was not practical because the laptop belongs to our Financial Manager, the response from the store manager was simply that "it is company policy."

What is most frustrating is the complete lack of understanding or willingness to assist. Removing this laptop from service for 21 days would significantly impact our business operations. The Financial Manager relies on the laptop daily to perform critical financial functions, and expecting a company to halt or severely disrupt its operations because of a faulty charger is unreasonable.

Furthermore:

At no point during the purchase process was this policy explained to us. No one informed us that a faulty accessory would require the entire laptop to be returned. The charger was never tested by any staff member when we brought it back. There was no attempt to investigate the fault, provide an alternative solution, or demonstrate any concern for the inconvenience being caused. The store manager appeared completely indifferent to our situation and offered no customer-focused resolution.

We purchased these laptops in good faith, expecting reliable products and professional after-sales support. Instead, we have been met with rigid policies, poor customer service, and a complete lack of empathy for the operational impact this issue has on our business.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are simply requesting a practical solution to what appears to be a faulty charger. Requiring a business-critical laptop to be surrendered for 21 days because of a charger defect is excessive and unreasonable.

We hope HiFi Corporation's management will review this matter urgently and provide a sensible resolution that reflects good customer service and support for business customers.

Regards,
