False advertising on on-line purchasing

I responded to an email from Hifi Corp advertising Tom Tom Navigators going for R799-00. What a bargain, I thought. Paid on-line for two but two days later was informed that there are no stock country wide.Is this not false advertising? They are very eager to advertise, take your money but no goods! Thanks to the Glen Shopping Centre branch in assisting me in choosing other navigators within the same price range.It was not brand new items (display models) but just because of their assistance I chose to go that route. False advertising for sure. How many other South Africans were caught like this? It is not fair on our consumers to pay for nothing. Life is expensive enough. Hifi Corp should be taken to task for this false advertising! How they got hold of my email address, only they would know!
