FALSE ADVERTISING

On 04/01/2021 I got an email from all catalogues. The new Hi-fi corporation catalogue had been published. Inside they advertised a HP Core i5 laptop for R2999. Cash price. There was a contact price. The advert clearly stated online only. For 2 days I searched online on the Hi-fi corporation website. The product was nowhere to be found. I then lodged a complaint using their website format. One of the questions was where my nearest store was, which I keyed in. I then got a call the next day from the store. They wanted a pic of the advert which I sent to them and they indicated that they would get back to me. When they did get back to me I was informed that it was an error in advertising. I then had the store on the phone while I checked on the advert, which is still displayed, no Erratum on the landing page or on the devices page absolutely nothing informing the customer of such an error. The store checked and confirmed the same. I was given a contact number to lodge a complaint. Which I did. ***. Wasted airtime and data on these useless people only to get an Email response from some INTERN called PALESA Musekwa who said: Good day Hope this mail finds you well Thank you for contacting our complaints department. Kindly note that we had a pricing error and we will not be honouring the pricing error. Kindly see below Terms and conditions. Should you feel that we have not assisted you to the fullest you are welcome to take it up with the Ombudsman /advertising agency for further assistance. Attached were 2 pictures in which She failed to advise how exactly did they try to "reasonably" resolve the issue as indicated in the images. What attempts were made to "reasonably" make the consumer aware on their website of such an error? Does these Terms and conditions mean that consumers may not be given any or all of the advertised products at the company's discretion, purely because theres terms and conditions? In that case why should you trust the FALSE Advertising from the JDG group??? Yes Joshua Door Group Intern... By the who, who approved the advert to be published, was it the customer? When the error was identified, what measures were put in place to correct it??? Before sending such disclaimers out, think about your company image and reputation. Anything in my opinion in that comes from this group is a lie...
