In the digital age we're living in, I haven't experienced a more shocking e-commerce business than that of Hi-Fi Corp, and the brick-and-mortar hasn't proved to be any better either.
I am writing this now over 2 weeks since date of purchase, Friday 25 November (otherwise a typically successful shopping day!).
I purchased a laptop 09h00 that morning via the Hi-Fi Corporation's joke of an online store. I spent the next week and a bit trying to follow up on the order, as the tracking number given "didn't exist" yet was told via their WhatsApp for Business line that my order would be delivered within On Monday 05 Dec I received a call at 08h54 from someone at Hi Fi Corp. I was anticipating a call to confirm delivery details, as that would have been the last day possible within the 3-6 working days conveyed to me via your WhatsApp line - however, the caller instead proceeded to tell me "there’s actually no stock of the item" I’d purchased now nearly 2 weeks prior, and “would I accept a demo model from a store”. ??

I purchased a laptop around 09h00 that morning via the HiFi Corp's joke of an online store. Since then, it's been calls and mails to try come to a resolution, holding a smidge of faith in the company to still come through for a customer, but I was sorely wrong and even though I've requested an immediate refund, I'm now being told this will still take 7-14 days??! So much for my Christmas present!
Might I add, that the item is still even up on their store now but THERE IS NO STOCK. I actually had the same item in my Takealot cart at the time, and should have absolutely just gone with them instead.
How does an e-commerce store hold a customer’s money for this period of time, with little to no communications until I as the customer try to contact HiFi Corp.
I will get this right with them, but word of advice, don't support this business.
