BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought the Vegas Student desk for R549 from the N1 City. The table or top of the desk broke got damaged while assembling the desk due to using the longer ***** instead of the shorter one. Due to section 3 of the policy is states that I can return the product and be liable for a 15% handling fee. When I returned the product I was told by the store manager they cannot accept and return this product and it does not form part of the 15% handling fee. I further explained to him my cry, I bought this today, assembled it today and it got damaged today, returned it today but you guys couldn't satisfy me as a customer and get this product returned or exchanged but you state that it can be returned but a 15 % handling fee Wil be charged. I am so unhappy about the product, it is damaged. I will not be able to work on it. I was already at game, I walked all the way to Hifi corp because I trusted you with your service and stronger products. I felt like the manager also gave me attitude when returning the product, he made me feel stupid and less worthy or valuable by the way he spoke to me. When I asked the customer complaints number he asked me what am I going to complain about? That does not involve him and why was he worried that I am going to complain. And the number he gave me to complain could no go through, I think he gave me a wrong number because the number is not going through. He said he is the manager of the store. I think he's behavior should be dealt with as he's staff are too nice to be working with such a rude guy. The tone and body language he shown me and my partner made me feel less human. He probably thinks he owns the world, I do understand I damaged the product by not following instructions but that's not how he was supposed to address me as a customer. Goods may only be returned in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, Act 68 of 2008 (“the CPA”). If you are entitled in law to return goods, then and in line with the CPA, a handling fee of up to 15% of the value of the goods may be charged when the product/packaging is not returned in its original purchase condition. Game will forever grow. Little stores like Hifi corp will come and demolish soon due to their cheap quality and pathetic Customer service experience.
