To The Head of HeyCarter.
I write this email to you both with absolute sadness and regret in the Renault brand.
Justin Pillay purchased the 2022 Renault Tribber 1.0 Prestige Automatic on the 28th of January 2022. My Sales assistant was Mmbatho Siwelane from Heycarter Johannesburg.
This was my very first purchase of a brand-new vehicle and I decided to put my faith in Renault. My sales assistant advised there is only one vehicle in the automatic range, and this is currently at Polokwane and we would need to bring this down to Durban. All arrangements were done, and the vehicle was brought down to Durban, and I took delivery. The very next day I had to take the vehicle back to the dealership because I was not happy with how the vehicle was performing and with lots of faults which I did express to the technician, and I was told the vehicle would perfume better once it reached certain kilometres. I continued to drive a vehicle I was not happy with and over a month or so the vehicle started to get worse, which led me to submitting a formal complaint to Renault South Africa. It took so many days for someone to be appointed to my case and finally I was contacted by a lady Amanda Mthi. She basically asked me all the problems I was experiencing with the vehicle and advised she would need to get back to me after she contacted the dealership. I did advise her that I don't understand why she is conducting all this research when Renault South Africa is clearly aware there is a problem with this model of vehicle(Many other owners have complained about the same vehicle). I was then advised after days to take the vehicle in to be checked by mechanics and for them to submit a report.
Vehicle was dropped off at Heycarter Springfield Park Durban on the 24th of June 2022. There were various tests and reprogramming done and they still were not able to fully restore vehicle checks after all the required checks and advised I should bring the vehicle back next week.
At this point in time, I am unimpressed with Renault South Africa, and I have made discoveries on so many things which were not disclosed to me when I purchased this vehicle. I certainly will not be taking the vehicle back to Heycarter Springfield park. If I wanted a second-hand vehicle I would have purchased one, I Paid for a brand New vehicle so why is Heycarter and Renault bull****ting me!!!. I should not be experiencing all these issues with a brand new vehicle.
The vehicle still has all the same problems after being checked and reprogrammed as I complained about and it's worse than what it was, and I am extremely angry because it’s like I am not getting any proper solutions to my complaint.
I BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION OF THE FOLLOWING:
Vehicle was sold to me with Mileage of ****m because they drove my vehicle down from Polokwane instead of bringing it down on a rollback. I was not even informed about this until the day I took delivery and was mortified when I saw the mileage on a brand-new vehicle. When I questioned my sales assistant Mmbatho Siwelane about this she advised we had to bring the vehicle to you.
I was not even informed this vehicle had an AMT Gearbox. The specification of the vehicle was not even clearly explained to me.
It was also brought to my attention that this vehicle was recalled before and this makes me more furious because why would you sell me a vehicle and not mention all the important details like it was pending a recall before.
Vehicle was booked on the 24th of June 2022. To be assessed by your technicians to conduct various tests- My mileage when I handed the vehicle to them was sitting at 6192. At the end of the day when I went to pick a vehicle , the mileage was sitting at 6328. When I questioned why so much mileage incurred, I was advised the Mechanic must drive the vehicle around while conducting tests and yet again I was being ****** for Mileage!!!
This is my very first vehicle and thank you so much Renault South Africa for ruining my experience.
I do not want this vehicle anymore because of all the above facts and I have lost faith in the Renault brand because this vehicle was sold without proper explanation and model specifications.
I would suggest the vehicle be swoped for brand new renault kiga turbo intense CVT or deal is recalled and closed.
In conclusion to my plea for assistance I am willing to take this further to the motor industry ombudsman and legally because I was sold a vehicle with so many defects and non-disclosures.
I hope my email will be taken seriously and I will get a solution to my problem.
Kind regards.
Justin Pillay
