No support for HP smart tank printer heads
I have used HP for most of the last 30 years, both at home and in business.
When the Ink tank printers arrived, it was quite a positive experience, as the old cartridge type printers cost a fortune to run.
I'm now on my third HP smart tank printer. The first one was mechanically damaged, but the second one developed a faulty black print head. The color was still working perfectly.
Despite HP's claim that these printer heads are available as spared, I have not had the same experience. The HP site referes one to the local shops, so I opted to call the one in Mall of Africa. Needless to say, this is not a stock item, so they took my details and promised to call back.
The callback never came, despite me calling again three more times.
My advise is, if you are looking for an Ink tank printer, first consider brands other than HP and verify that you can actually get new print heads. In my experience, HP doesn't support print head replacement.
