HP Officejet 6700 Expensive and not worth it!!!!!!

Purchased a very expensive HP printer because my other HP printer stopped working and the cost to send it in to replace a bulb would cost me more than a new one, which we bought a new one. And guess what now my new printer is not working saying that the ink cartridges are damaged, which are genuine HP cartridges which cost over R1000 for the set. Now one of your agents (Lulama on *** on 13/01/2016 @11:55) tell me that the lifespan is 3 years, mine is not even 1 1/2 years old! Now I must send it in to see what is the fault and I will be charged for this. If you check HP has numerous complaints on this printer. What is going to be done about this? I need to work and I work hard for my money and now my money is down the drain!!!!
