HP Laptop - Poor Manufacturing

I purchased an HP Laptop from Vodacom in 2018. HP provides a warranty of 1 year although I am paying Vodacom for 2 years (total *******). I logged a complaint on the HP Support Community advising the frame has come lose and the hinge on the left side is a problem. I was told to take the laptop to the support centre. My husband took the laptop to the HP service centre in Springfield park. The centre advised that the hinge is faulty and that is a common problem with HP laptops. The hinge has to be replaced and because the laptop is out of warranty, I have to pay them R1000 to have it replaced. This is truly not acceptable as if this is a problem with HP laptops why does HP sell products that are faulty. Why is it that me the consumer must bear the cost of faulty manufactured goods. How can HP sell items, give a years warranty and then immediately after the warranty issues arise. I am still waiting for HP Support to contact me with a solution. This is truly despicable.
