Hewlett - Packard - a travesty to customers and the environment

I have an HP printer - HP Officejet 4500. Around the end of January the "HP Solution Centre Program" which connects the computer to the printer suddenly would not connect the computer to the printer - so it was impossible to scan documents . I am told its because it worked using Adobe FlashX which has been discontinued. So I phoned HP customer care to be told that my printer ( which works 100%) is now no longer supported and maybe if I try using windows 10 - it may work but they cant guarantee this - go figure. So just with a flick of a switch hundreds of thousands of HP printers worldwide can no longer be used and HP are not going to do anything to assist customers in this regard? Apart from being an atrocious waste of merchandise ( as one is going to have to trash a perfectly good operating printer) which in turn is about as environmentally unfriendly as one can get, HP leaves hundreds of thousands of customers worldwide in the lurch. The apparent solution is to purchase a new printer of which you will have no idea when they will flick another switch and leave customers once again in the lurch on a worldwide scale There is no doubt that if HP really wanted to - would find a "solution program" to enable customers to use existing printers that re**** had previously re**** on Adobe flashX for the printer - computer interface What an absolute travesty - an absolutely disgraceful situation. Looking at posts on Hellopeter and on worldwide sites, it appears that HP products with respect to printers - laptops and availability of spares, are not up to scratch - I will never purchase another HP product again - good luck
