The worse service ever!

I have been using Hertz Car Rental for the last 3 years as a long term renter. This means a long term contract and paying them monthly to use a car due to the fact that i do not wish to be stuck in a contract with a bank on a HP or lease agreement.

However this story goes south when i had a freak accident late night in January this year when a dog ran into me on a highway taking with it part of the bumper. I immediately reported this incident the next day at he police station to get an accidenr report number which would allow me to return the vehicle to Hertz car rental and swop it out for a new car since my rental agreement warrants it. What happened next was the reason for this complaint. As the agreement states i would be held liable for thr excess of any damages incurred to the vehicle under. Which i had absolutely no problem with. But the way in which the claim was dealt with was the whole issue.

For 3 months i heard nothing from Hertz relating to the issue of the damages. Yet in March i received a text message from their Risk Department stating i must contact the rental office ar CPT international airport because i had to return the car. When i contacted the number of the Risk officer he informed me that my account has been blocked due to outstanding claims which i have bot paid. My first reaction was "what claim?" He then informed me that the susension related some claim for tyre damage incurred in 2016. This was preposterous as i had no outstanding claims on mu account. I immediately called the rental office at CPT intl airport and the admin manager at the time claimed she was also not aware of any such claim. And that the matter needed to be escalated. Yet after inspection of an email received from this very manager the instruction to retrieve the vehicle came from her office.

When i learnt this, i challenged them and immediately the story changed. It appeared that the unpaid claims related to the damaged of the accident in January 2017 but what was so interesting about this claim is that there was suddenly additional charges added for another tyre. I refused ro pay this as i knew there wasnt any tyre damage on that vehicle. But during this time Hertz Risk department activated their security features in the vehicle ****ing some of the electrical and safety features in the vehicle. The fuel gage stopped working and the Tyre Pressure Monitor alarmed even though there was enough fuel and the tyres were unflated as per recommendation of the cars manufacurer (Renault Captur)

When this happened i immediately called the rental agency and complained and they assured me the block would be lifted from my account. We then agreed amicably that i would settle the cost of the claim of the damages as per the rental agreement. What irritates me of this is that they debited my banking account without my knowledge or providing me an invoice. 2 weeks later on the 18 april 2017, i received notification from my Bank that Hertz Car Rental had debited my account again. This time 3 X R270 with no explaination or invoice or communication. This is 2 weeks after i returnes the vehicle to them. Whilst i am in the US.

This company absolutely does not know what the "f" they doing. I contacted my bank to inform them that these transactions are not legal and should be considered **********.

I will not pay for anything until i am informed of what i am paying for.

needless to say that there sre 3 amounts blocked off my account that has still not been reversed as a holding deposit.

This company cannot be trusted.
