Taking Too Long To Pay Deposit

I rented a car in Cape Town from the 4th-6th December 2020. My deposit hasn't been paid back yet. Judging by the reviews I see and people I have spoken to it seems to be a usual occurrence. I have hired cars with other rental companies before, it has never taken this long. It would seem the excuse about the banks is a smokescreen.
