PLEASE do not waist your money renting through Hertz Rent a Car

<p>I have rented a car through Hertz Rent a Car over the last 5 months. Not one month the amount charged to my credit card agreed with the booking confirmation. When you extend your lease they change the rates to drastically more expensive rates and I returned a vehicle 3 days earlier and was charged a different rate than my booking and they even charged me for every kilometer I used the vehicle despite of them allowing 200km free per day. The rent for the 3 days that I returned the vehicle earlier comes to R441, but instead with the rate change for returning the vehicle earlier they charged me R2,575 additionally!!!!!!!! On every occassion before I extended or terminated a rental early I have contacted the local Hertz rental office in Port Elizabeth and was advised that NO penalty will be payable and nothing was mentioned about rate changes, I only find out about the additional charges surprise when they debited my credit card. </p> <p>Another warning about this company, they are very quick to charge your credit card with the rental amount, but you wait up till 21 days for your deposit to be refunded!!!! Even when you do not take another rental agreement they do not deduct the rental amount from your deposit and refund the difference. They charge you for the full rental and you have to sit and wait for your deposit to be returned.</p> <p>So in short by the looks of it they seems to be the cheapest rental company, but believe me you will get your surprise for definate and I am talking after a 5 month experience. </p> <p>I have cancelled immediately 12 months of bookings I have made with them and have NO intentions supporting Hertz Rent a Car ever again. Please learn out of my shocking experience and don't waste your time and money.</p>
