No communication from Hertz
No communication from Hertz's side.
I live in China, went to South Africa on holiday in February and rented a car. Imagine my surprise when I received an e-mail from FNB three months after returning, saying that some funds have been reserved from my account by Hertz. There was no reference as to why money was going to be deducted.
I phoned FNB in a panick thinking my card has been cloned, and immediately stopped my card.
It was only 2 days later that I received an e-mail from Hertz with a statement that a fine was incurred back in February. The amount of the fine is also suspicious so I asked them to show me the original fine.
I accidentally created so much trouble for myself because Hertz wanted to take money first and explain later. I app**** for a new card and this will have to be sent by courier to me. Surely I cannot expect Hertz to refund me for that money because of their neglegence.
@HERTZ: This is the digital era, South Africa is full of crime and *******ion. COMMUNICATE with people before taking their money!!! I would have had no problem to pay the fine. Who is going to repay me for the phone calls I made to FNB from China? Who is going to pay for my new bank card to be sent to me?
