Hertz: FireFly ****, Confirmation Number 12LXGR

I did a google search for Bidvest Car rental, a page popped up that was called "BidVest: CarFlex" (https://www.carflexi.com/en-us/y2880/bidvest-car-rental), branded with Bidvest logos ... as I when through the search, eventually a Hertz Car we reserved.... So this appears to be Hertz, hijacking Bidvest searches.

The site offered what seemed to be a good deal, at around R300 for a day. After taking the Credit Card details, you get a mail saying they will send the voucher "later". Once the "voucher" arrives, there is no contact details. On arrival at Hertz in Cape Town Airport, I was told that there is a R17'000 deposit required, but that if I wanted the deposit to be lowered to R2'000, then I needed to pay a further R600, this IS A ****, that Hertz is participating in.

The clerk at the airport was to say the least "unsympathetic", and tried to make be feel guilty because I said I did not have R17'000 for a deposit .. "so you want to cancel because you can afford the R17'000".... strangely he new that name of the referal agent and telephone number, this was not even on the voucher!

I think this is very ********* of Hertz to be associated with this ****, I think that all customers should be wary of the tactics, *****ing Bidvest's brand to generate leads, trying to force a customer to pay higher premiums to lower crazy deposits, and then to try and insult me or guilt me into accepting the fees ... I would like to hear what Hertz is doing about this....
