Hertz adamant about charging for fuel - car returned filled up "to the brim"

<p>I have used Hertz car rentals in Johannesburg from the 5.09 till 7.09.</p> <p>Around 1 hour after I returned the car I received an invoice stating that I returned the car "EMPTY", so I was charged an additional amount of money (R93,96). However, I filled up the tank "to the brim" at the OR Tambo petrol station. The petrol station assistant told me the fuel was already literally leaking out from the tank. The drive from the petrol station to the car rental returns is not longer than 500m.</p> <p> </p> <p>Emplyee Cindy Scharneck rep**** to my previous complain admitting that Hertz miscounted the amount I should pay for fuel. She lowered the fee to R48,43. I know that Hertz charges R30 in South Africa, regardless from the state of the tank (Full or empty). Still, where do the R18,43 come from? </p> <p> </p> <p>Why do I have to fight to have my money returned? Hertz already admitted they made a mistake. But the mistake was that they charged me at all! I require a full reversal of the fuel fee and an apologie from Hertz.</p> <p> </p>
