Fishy Financial Transactions

<p>After returning a rented Chev Spark used on a drive totalling 60km, I received an invoice indicating that an amount of ZAR 442.89 for fuel. The rental details indicated that the vehicle was returned with only 1/8 of a tank remaining despite only driving the vehicle for 4 hours and the 60km (Joburg airport to Sandton and return). Naturally, requesting the fuel receipt that would surely be required by any professional company came to nothing.</p> <p> </p> <p>Not only does this leave a very negative impression of the company but it leaves me with one of only 3 conclusions based on facts!</p> <p>a.) The Chevy Spark 1.2ltr is the MOST fuel ineffienct vechicle on South African roads, using 30 ltrs of fuel to travel 60km in 4 hours.</p> <p>b.) A thrifty emlpoyee is eagerly attempting to fleece unseusepecting customers</p> <p>c.) Gross incompetence is present at the Hertz branch whereby avoidable billing erros routinely slip through at avoidable expense to customers.</p> <p> </p> <p>Attempts to contact the branch by phone, customer service email or directly with the manager (Mandy Smart) have all been fruitless. </p>
