I had a great experience with Hertz Car Rental when hiring a car in December 2025 in Port Elizabeth. The late evening flight arrived at 9 and the queue was slow at that time, but the vehicle was ready. Unfortunately, the representative was unable to hand the car over before he did an inspection and asked due to the pressure of other clients I should photograph the vehicle in the morning. The photos were done on the Sunday morning at around 7 a.m. and sent to the representative phone number on WhatsApp. There were distinctive well rusted dents on the driver's side and a missing support string for the back boot panel on the left side. A comprehensive message indicating all the dents and issues accompanied the WhatsApp message. However, on return 2 weeks later they disputed other issues e.g. Head Lights alignment and a few other issues that were not valid as well as major scratch on the front left fender board. They disputed it was done that evening we drove to our holiday house in Jefferey's Bay which was not true! We politely addressed our concerns to the company representative in question who indicated that they would investigate. Gertrude Nyovu was our contact and she finally came back on 11 March 2026 to state that the R5750.00 deposit we paid up front would be returned. What a wonderful turnup it was.
