Billing issue - over charged

I rented a car on the monthly promo from 23/09/2020 until the 23/10/2020. I needed to leave the country on the 21/10/2020 and returned the car to OR Tambo on the same day. (2 days early). Instead of charging me for the two days I got charged an additional R3099!

I called prior to bringing the vehicle back and I was informed I can bring back the vehicle early. There was no mention of any penalties.

To my surprise when I checked my credit card statement there was an unauthorized amount of R3099 taken from my card. I say unauthorized because I was not told about this penalty and before such an amount gets debited I should of been informed.

On the day of collection I was told I can’t have the vehicle category I booked and that I have been upgraded at no charge to a Toyota Corolla quest. I asked for a vehicle in my group and they said I would be happier in the Corolla.

It seems that I have now been charged a full rental of 28 days at the rate of the new vehicle category which puzzles me as it should of been charged at the same rate as the initial booking category - Renault Clio!

I have now been charged in excess of R7000 for a booking that should of been under R4000!

Since February I have rented +- 6 cars from Hertz and have been a loyal customer.

I will never use hertz again because of this
